What is Vevo's Purpose?

Vevo stands as the premier music video network worldwide, connecting a growing global audience to top-tier music video content for over a decade. Vevo offers fans an extensive array of premium content, including official music videos, live performances, and original programming. From established superstars to emerging talents, Vevo provides unparalleled cross-promotional support to artists across various genres, aiding them at every stage of their careers. Apart from YouTube, Vevo also distributes its vast library of music videos to numerous partners, including Apple TV, Pluto TV, Samsung TV, and Roku.

Can I Deliver to an Existing Vevo Channel?

Yes, at Dark Lab Records Ltd, we can manage the delivery of your videos to existing Vevo channels. Whether you're creating a new channel or adding a new video to an existing one, our team can facilitate the process seamlessly.

Can I Control My Vevo YouTube Channel?

Vevo-branded YouTube channels are managed exclusively by Vevo and are not accessible to third parties. However, as an approved distributor to Vevo, Dark Lab Records Ltd can make changes and updates to your video and channel information on your behalf. This includes adjustments to artist images, channel banners, video descriptions, and more.

Vevo Royalties

Vevo typically operates a couple of months behind our monthly reporting schedule. This means that while we may post July sales for other platforms, Vevo's reporting may be for May. The actual payment rates and calculation methods used by Vevo are not disclosed to us. Payment amounts may vary based on factors such as advertiser revenue and user interactions with ads during video playback.

YouTube Official Artist Channels

If you don't have an Official Artist Channel (OAC), your label or distributor can request one on your behalf. An OAC merges your personal channel, Vevo channel, and Topic Channel (YouTube Music) into a unified Official Artist Channel.

YouTube Premieres

With Vevo, you have the option to set up a YouTube premiere for your video. This allows for a watch page to appear before the video goes live, complete with a countdown timer and chat feature for fan interaction. Please note that this feature is only available to artists with Official Artist Channels or those with 100k+ subscribers.

Unlisted Links

Vevo can provide unlisted YouTube links, allowing videos to be viewed only by those with the direct link. This feature is useful for premiering videos elsewhere or pitching them for premieres with other platforms.

Vevo Cards

Vevo videos can include YouTube cards, promoting videos, playlists, or merchandise. Dark Lab Records Ltd can add up to three cards per video, linking to Vevo channels or playlists, or external merchandise websites.

Getting Your Vevo Channel Verified

To become verified on Vevo, your Vevo-branded YouTube channel must have at least 100,000 subscribers. Dark Lab Records Ltd cannot facilitate this process directly, but you can request verification through YouTube's official channels.

Can I Run Ads on My Vevo Video and Channel?

Yes, you can run ads on your Vevo video and channel. Simply provide us with your Google AdWords Account ID after submitting your video for distribution.

Transferring from Another Distributor

If you wish to transfer ownership of your existing music videos to Dark Lab Records Ltd, simply send us a request with the relevant ISRC(s) and YouTube URL(s) via email to info@darklabrecords.com.

We hope these answers address any inquiries you may have regarding Vevo. If you have further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our team.
